Bulky waste collection
We can collect larger household items such as beds, wardrobes, washing machines, TVs, tables etc.
The removal of fridges and freezers is a separate service.
We can collect up to 12 items. Furniture that has more than one piece, e.g. a divan base, mattress and headboard, is counted as 3 items.
It costs £52.50 (£26.25 concessionary fee if you claim housing benefit or council tax benefit).

Where do we collect your items from?
We collect items from outside your property. They must be there by 7am. We cannot enter your property to make a collection.
All items must be at ground floor level. If you live in a flat or apartment, they must be on the road outside the property.
How long does it take to book a collection?
We can usually collect within 7 days of booking. Once it has been scheduled, our collection team will call to confirm the collection date.
Concessionary fee explained
If you are in receipt of housing benefit or council tax benefit, the standard fee is a 50% reduction of the normal fee.
Could your item be re-used?
If your item could be re-used, pass it on to a local charity organisation, such as:
- Emmaus (link opens in new window)
- Preen (link opens in new window) (a local enterprise that helps local people with low-priced furniture, appliances and household goods) or
- offer the items via sites such as Freegle (link opens in new window) (an online re-use group for local people to give items away and get things for free)
If your items are unsuitable for re-use, you can also take them to your nearest tidy tip for disposal.
