2021 Census

Headline figures for Central Bedfordshire showed that Central Bedfordshire had a population of 294,300 at the 2021 Census and a population density of 411 residents per square kilometre (source: Office for National Statistics, 2021 Census).

The population had increased by 15.7% compared to the 2011 Census, above the average rate for England (6.6%) and among the fastest-growing areas in the country. Other changes can be seen in the ONS article, How the population has changed where you live.
