Central Bedfordshire Council, Luton Council and Bedford Borough Council have secured government support to develop a new fostering hub to help recruit, approve and support more foster carers across the area.
We celebrated our foster carers at a ‘Celebration of Fostering’ event this weekend, recognising 15 households who together have given an incredible 105 years of dedicated fostering service.
At a meeting on 7 October, Central Bedfordshire Council’s Executive agreed plans to consult on its Local Council Tax Support Scheme (LCTS) for working-age claimants.
We welcome a new plan from the government, called ‘Giving Every Child the Best Start in Life’, which aims to improve support for children and families from pregnancy to age 5.
We joined forces with Bedfordshire Police and other partner agencies at the end of May to support Operation Sceptre, a national campaign aimed at tackling knife crime and keeping communities safe.
A Central Bedfordshire resident has been sentenced to an £80 fine plus ordered to pay £250 in costs and a £32 victim surcharge after attempting to avoid paying Council Tax.
