Most meeting papers are publicly available unless there is a legal reason for them to remain confidential.
How committee meetings work
The council makes decisions through committees made up of elected councillors.
Types of committee
- decision-making committees – such as Council, Executive and regulatory committees that make formal decisions
- overview and scrutiny committees – councillors who review decisions and examine how council services are delivered
- joint and partnership committees – meetings held with partner organisations or other councils
