Make your voice heard: join a tenant panel
Would you like to help improve housing services and make a real difference for residents? We're looking for new members to join one of our three Tenant Panels. This is your opportunity to work with housing staff, share your experiences and help influence how services are delivered.
About the panels
Housing Property Panel
Your Housing Property Panel meetings will review the performance of repairs and look at stock condition, planned maintenance and housing safety compliance programmes to identify what's working well and help identify ways to improve services for residents.
Customer Experience Panel
Customer Experience Panel members review complaints, customer feedback and service performance. You will look at accessibility of services and the quality of communication with tenants, helping to ensure lessons are learned and improvements are made.
Housing Operations Panel
The Housing Operations Panel is new and will be responsible for reviewing performance on tenancy sustainment, financial inclusion, income collection and anti-social behaviour support and investigation. You can provide recommendations on how we improve these services for tenants.
What's involved?
- Attend four meetings a year (approximately every three months)
- Meetings are held during the daytime at Central Bedfordshire Council offices or other council venues
- Work alongside housing staff and other residents to influence decisions and improve services
- Receive training, support and reimbursement of reasonable travel expenses and your time
Your experience and ideas can help shape the future of housing services. If you'd like to have your say and make a positive difference to your community, we'd love to hear from you.

The Landlord Assurance Board
The Landlord Assurance Board puts tenants at the heart of how we meet the Regulator of Social Housing’s Consumer Standards. The board will influence decisions that improve living conditions, safety, and the quality of services our tenants receive.
To promote transparency and openness, the board is made up of 5 councillors and 5 tenants, leaseholders or shared owners. Every voice and view within the board matters.
Each member of the board will be able to contribute to discussions, ask questions about how we deliver our services, suggest changes or improvements. The board through its review of performance, tenant satisfaction and compliance reporting and asking questions, will hold us (as a landlord) to account.
Want to be a Landlord Assurance Board member?
We are currently recruiting for our tenants to be members of the board. We’re looking for enthusiastic tenants, leaseholders and shared owners that have a passion to make a difference and play a key part in shaping how our landlord service is run.
We’re looking for someone who understands the communities we serve and who can use their lived experience to consider the interests of our communities and drive change. If you have a passion for Housing and have experience or interest in areas including construction, health and safety, social work, finance, law, business, or community organisations, why not consider joining?

Board meetings
The board will meet 6 times a year and board members will need to be able to spend time reading papers in preparation for each meeting as well as attend training opportunities.
Meeting dates and times will be publicly promoted, and board members will be required to attend meetings in person. Members will receive onboarding support and training before attending their first meeting.
