Recycling collections are improving across Central Bedfordshire
From 30 March 2026, all households will be able to recycle glass bottles and jars at home using their recycling bin or sacks, and residents living in flats will receive weekly food waste collections.
If you already receive food waste collections, nothing changes for you, and collection frequency for households stays the same.
To introduce these improvements, recycling collection rounds are being reorganised, so some households will have a change to their bin collection day from 30 March 2026. If this affects you, we will write to you before the changes begin.
Any changes will be reflected on the bin collections page from early March 2026, where you can check your updated dates.
Bottle banks will be phased out, but glass recycling will still be available at Household Waste Recycling Centres.
Sign up for email alerts to stay up to date with the changes.
