The free challenge encourages children to keep reading during the school holidays by exploring books, e-books, audiobooks, magazines and graphic novels. Children can choose whatever interests them and enjoy reading at their own pace.
Families can sign up at any Central Bedfordshire library during the summer. Children who complete the challenge will receive rewards and can take part in special activities available at their local library.
The Summer Reading Challenge is designed to be inclusive, with a range of accessible formats and resources available to help every child enjoy reading and take part.
Throughout the summer, libraries host a variety of family-friendly events and activities to help children stay engaged, build confidence and discover a lifelong love of books.
Participation is free, but children must be library members to take part. Library membership is free and easy to join.
