Information about changes to local bus services, including routes, timetables and operators.
Bus Service Changes – 9 August 2026
Grant Palmer Ltd routes C (Luton – Dunstable – Beecroft), CX (Luton – Dunstable Amazon), Hi (Luton – Dunstable – Thorn) and Jo (Luton – Houghton Regis – Linmere) have new timetables from 9 August 2026. All route Jo buses will run via Tithe Farm Road, and the off-peak frequency will increase to every 20 minutes, with an additional bus each hour in the off-peak via Parkside Drive and Woodside Link to the Lidl Distribution Centre. One bus an hour will run via Elmers Gate when the road is fully open.

Bus Service Changes – 30 August 2026
Arriva – Luton / Dunstable and Leighton Buzzard
There will be minor timetable changes on routes:
- 7 (Luton – Leagrave Road – Marsh Farm / Hockwell Ring / Upper Sundon / Linmere)
- 321 (Luton – St Albans – Watford)
- H (Luton – Busway – Lewsey Farm – Thorn – Dunstable)
- L (Luton – Busway – Lewsey Farm – Linmere)
- LOOP (Woburn Sands – Milton Keynes / Bletchley)
- QA1 (Thorn – Dunstable – Queensbury Academy) This school days only route is withdrawn. Route H offers an alternative, although only to Dunstable town centre.
- X2 / X3 (Luton Airport – Leighton Buzzard – Milton Keynes) have revised timetables – there will be an additional early morning journey from Leighton Buzzard to Milton Keynes, and one early morning journey towards Luton will divert via Stanbridge and Tilsworth (normally on route X4) to provide an earlier bus towards Luton
- X15 (Milton Keynes – Leighton Buzzard – Aylesbury Schools) will be withdrawn – Red Rose route 150 provides a link from Heath and Reach and Leighton Buzzard to Aylesbury, and X4 will continue to provide a school days journey between Leighton Buzzard and Aylesbury Schools
- Luton routes 5 and 6 (Luton – Marsh Farm), 12 (Luton – Stopsley) and Green Line 757 (Luton – Luton Airport – London Victoria) also have timetable changes – routes CN 1 to CN 8 (Cardinal Newman School routes) also have route and timetable changes

Arriva – Hitchin area
97 (Stotfold – Letchworth – Hitchin) has minor timing changes through the day, there is an additional Monday to Friday morning journey at 7:02am from Stotfold, and the last bus from Hitchin is moved to 6:30pm rather than current 6:19pm.

Centrebus
366 (Luton – East Hyde – Harpenden – Welwyn – Hatfield) has minor timetable changes, and a minor change to route within Welwyn Garden City.
Grant Palmer Ltd
- 42 (Dunstable - Flitwick – Bedford) will have timetable changes to allow journeys to serve Harlington Upper School
- 44 (Flitwick – Clophill – Bedford) and 68 (Ampthill – Stewartby – Bedford) will have minor timetable changes in the morning peak

Stagecoach East
- 2W (Bedford – Interchange Park – Wixams – Wootton) will have timetable changes, and the route will change to run via St. Paul’s Square and Town Bridge in Bedford. Brooklands Avenue and Green Lane in Wixams will no longer be served, and the route is on long term diversion due to a road closure and can not serve Kempston Hardwick
- 9A, 9B, 9D (Bedford – Shefford – Hitchin – Stevenage) will have minor timetable changes, with some evening journeys buses running slightly earlier towards Bedford
- Minor timetable changes on Bedford local routes 1, 4, 5 and 8 – route 50 will now run between Bedford and Rushden Lakes with a separate service from Rushden to Kettering

Uno – Cranfield area
- Routes C1, C10 and C11 (Bedford – Cranfield – Milton Keynes) are changing
- Route C1 will operate every day between Bedford and Milton Keynes via Kempston, Wootton, Marston Moreteyne, Cranfield, Cranfield University and Newport Pagnell
- Routes C10 and C11 will no longer run
- New route C2 will run Monday – Saturday between Bedford and Milton Keynes via Kempston, Wootton, Lower and Upper Shelton, Cranfield, Cranfield University, Moulsoe and Milton Keynes Coachway
- New route C3 will run every day between Cranfield University and Milton Keynes via Marston Moreteyne, Brogborough, Magna Park and Kingston Centre
Uno – Luton to Hatfield routes
- 612 (Luton – Harpenden – Hatfield) – this school day only route is withdrawn
- X10 (Luton – Hatfield, limited stop) will have a revised timetable, and will divert via Kimpton Road in Luton for interchange with buses or DART to / from Luton Airport
- Route X10 will continue to run during Hertfordshire University term time only

Bank holiday Monday – 31 August 2026
Bus services across Bedfordshire will run to Sunday timetables on Bank Holiday Monday 31 August 2026.
Train services may operate to special timetables, and the Great Northern / Thameslink / LNER line will be closed between Peterborough / Letchworth and Potters Bar from late evening on Saturday 29 August, all day on Sunday 30 August and early morning on Monday 31 August, with stations at Sandy, Biggleswade and Arlesey served by rail replacement buses at those times.

Leighton Buzzard – Stanbridge Road closure 6 July to September 2026
- Stanbridge Road will be closed between Apex Park and Roundel Drive from 6 July 2026 – this is expected to continue until early September
- Centrebus route L4 will not serve stops on Fraserfield Way or Leighton Road, but will continue to run along Briggington Way and around Astral Park / Roundel Drive.
- Arriva route X3 will not serve stops from Stanbridge, Deans Farm to Stanbridge Road / Linwood Drive inclusive, and will run non stop between Lake Street / Morrisons and Chalk Hill / ‘White Lion’
- Arriva routes X4 and CS1 will not serve stops on Leighton Road, Stanbridge Road, or at Lake Street / Morrisons, and will divert via Fraserfields Way and Hockliffe Road
- Arriva route X2 and other Centrebus routes will run as normal
Summer school holidays – July and August 2026
- Schools will be breaking up for the summer holidays in late July and will be off until September. If your bus route has school day / school holiday journeys, please check the timetable
- Centrebus route ZOO (Luton – Dunstable – Whipsnade Zoo) runs every day of the week during the school holidays, and bus ticket holders can get discounted admission to the Zoo

Biggleswade – Hitchin Street closure
- Hitchin Street, Biggleswade is currently closed for works by Anglian Water. This is expected to continue until November 2026
- Grant Palmer routes Route 74 (Bedford – Biggleswade – Hitchin) and 200 (Biggleswade – Shefford – Flitwick) are not serving stops at Biggleswade Railway Station Interchange, Teal Road or stops on Hitchin Street, and 200 is not serving Broom Turn
