The Leader of Central Bedfordshire Council has thanked local volunteers for their crucial role in helping communities respond to and recover from recent flooding.
Councillor Adam Zerny, Leader of the Council welcomed Emma Hardy, Minister for Water and Flooding to Leighton Buzzard today, Thursday 26 September 2024.
Council officers, volunteers and emergency services were out in force last night giving advice and guidance to people in areas affected by and at risk of further flooding due to heavy overnight.
A flooding summit, called after heavy rains in 2024, outlined how Central Bedfordshire organisations will collaborate to reduce future flood impacts on homes, roads, and infrastructure.
Work will start on the installation of solar panels at the Dunstable Centre today, Monday 12 June, marking a step forward towards making the building more sustainable for the future.
