Our newly-appointed Executive Member for Children and Families and Deputy Executive Member have issued a joint update following their first week in post.
We're supporting Sceptre this week (Monday 17 November to Friday 21 November 2025), joining Bedfordshire Police in a national effort to raise awareness of the dangers of carrying a knife.
We joined forces with Bedfordshire Police and other partner agencies at the end of May to support Operation Sceptre, a national campaign aimed at tackling knife crime and keeping communities safe.
In March 2025, we wrote to all parent governors of schools we maintain, seeking nominations for 2 parent governor representative posts on the Children’s Services Overview and Scrutiny Committee.
On Thursday, 15 May, Councillor Kevin Collins was appointed as Chair of Central Bedfordshire Council and Councillor Vicky Malone has been appointed as Vice Chair.
Our Jigsaw Service has been recognised, alongside two schools in the area, for its commitment to providing high-quality support and education to children with ADHD.
