Central Bedfordshire Council has approved a proposal for major investment in Ivel Valley School

Central Bedfordshire Councillors will next month be asked to decide on the first phase of a new five-year plan.

At a meeting on 1 April, Members of our Executive will be asked to approve plans to consult on a proposed change to the Council’s Home to School Transport policy for students aged 5 to 16.

Work has begun on a new sports hall and multi-use games area (MUGA) at Edward Peake CofE School, which will enhance physical education opportunities for students.

A new Additional Resource Provision (ARP) will open at Stratton School in January to support autistic children and enhance local access to specialist education.

We have approved 115 additional places at Chiltern School.

We have approved new special school places at Ivel Valley School and College and Shefford Lower.

We will soon be writing to EU citizens registered to vote, to let them know about legal changes to their voting and candidacy rights effective from 7 May, 2024.

Councillors have stopped plans to close Ridgmont Lower School and will now re-examine the potential for the school and three others to become Primary Schools as part of the Three-to-Two-Tier programme.
