New X75 bus route to Cambridge launches Monday 5 January 2026

We're pleased to announce the launch of a brand-new bus service connecting Biggleswade, Sandy, and Potton directly to Cambridge.
The X75 route, starting Monday 5 January, marks the first direct bus link between Central Bedfordshire towns and Cambridge in many years.
Funded through our allocation of the government’s Bus Service Improvement Plan (BSIP), the X75 will operate 4 journeys in each direction, Monday to Saturday, offering residents an accessible and cost-effective way to travel to Cambridge.
The new X75 bus service is operated by A2B Travel, which already runs several services throughout Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire, as well as the 96 and 96A services between Stotfold, Arlesey and Letchworth.
The first Monday to Friday departure, aimed at commuters and students, leaves at 6:28am from the Biggleswade Interchange and arrives in Drummer Street, Cambridge, in time to take onward buses to colleges and workplaces. The last service departs at 3:58pm. The journey takes just over an hour, making it a practical choice for commuters and day-trippers alike. A single ticket costs £3, and concessions are available; the Young Person’s Travel Card and the English National Bus Pass are valid on this route.
Councillor Tracey Wye, our Executive Member for Sustainability and Climate Resilience, said:
I am really excited to see a new service connecting Potton, Sandy and Biggleswade to Cambridge, which opens up new opportunities for education, employment and leisure.
It is something residents have asked me for a number of years and I am thrilled we have managed to get it going with the help of the Cambridge and Peterborough mayor’s office and A2B Travel.
This is a real investment in sustainable travel, and I encourage everyone to try the service – it’s affordable, convenient and opens up opportunities for residents who don’t own a car or those who want to leave their cars at home.
