Induction service for newly qualified teachers (NQTs)

We offer a comprehensive ‘Appropriate Body’ and NQT induction service which provides support for all settings. We provide guidance, advice, training and quality assurance to help schools ensure their NQT induction provision complies with the Department for Education’s statutory requirements.

Our service is comprehensive, with no surprise costs.

The fee covers:

  • registration of NQTs and updating of Teaching Regulation Agency's records
  • maintenance of records in accordance with statutory guidance
  • half-day training course on the induction process for all NQTs and induction tutors
  • phone and e-mail support for induction tutors and NQTs on all aspects of induction
  • detailed handbook to support NQTs and induction tutors throughout the process
  • review of all assessment forms and feedback and help to address any issues identified
  • one-day conference for NQTs exploring best practice in teaching and learning and looking towards future career development
  • broad-ranging programme of after-school enrichment events open to all NQTs and focusing on key elements within the teachers’ standards
  • bespoke support in cases where an NQT is at risk of failing induction
  • inclusion within the local authority’s monitoring programme, with an option to request a visit if not selected for monitoring

Teacher Self Service Portal (link opens in new window)

The Teaching Regulation Agency (formerly National College for Teaching and Leadership) launched the teacher self service website in October 2014. This service enables teachers to:

  • view their teacher record
  • obtain QTS and induction certificates
  • update personal details
  • download and print a letter confirming their teacher qualifications
  • input employment details
