Model exclusion letters

The revised DfE statutory guidance on exclusions came into effect on 1 September 2017. The authority has produced its own set of recommended model letters, based on the new guidance, which schools are invited to use.  The relevant letter should be sent to the parent or carer immediately upon exclusion and a copy sent to the Inclusion Support Officer along with the Notification of Exclusion Form.

Exclusion Letters:

Model Exclusion Letter 1 (Word 31.5KB) - letter notifying parent of a fixed period exclusion of 5 school days or fewer in one term.

Model Exclusion Letter 2 (Word 32.5KB) - letter notifying parent of a fixed period exclusion of 5 - 15 days in a term.

Model Exclusion Letter 3 (Word 34KB) - letter notifying parent of a fixed period exclusion of more than 15 days in total in a term.

Model Exclusion Letter 4 (Word 29KB) - letter notifying parent of a permanent exclusion.

Model Exclusion Letter 5 (Word 36.5KB) - letter notifying parent of the upholding of permanent exclusion.
