About the refurbishment

To improve the customer experience at our Saxon Leisure Centre in Biggleswade, we are upgrading the swimming pool changing facilities, to create a new modern changing area.

The £1 million upgrade started in April 2019, and includes new:

  • changing cubicles and lockers
  • toilets
  • individual shower cubicles
  • treatment room
  • vanity area
  • tiling and redecoration throughout
  • seating for swimming galas

as well as:

  • family changing areas located closer to the learner pool
  • full refurbishment of the accessible and group changing rooms

The works are taking place in three phases and are due to be finished in Autumn 2019. The swimming pool will remain open during most of this time, except for one week during the final phase of work. This is so that the tiles by the pool can be replaced and the new seats installed. We will confirm the exact dates when the pool will be closed once those are finalised.
