Starting school in 2018

Late applications for starting school in 2019

Late applications for 2019 are now closed. You can still apply for an in-year school place.

About late applications

All applications we receive after 15 January 2019 will be deemed as late and not processed until the late allocation round, which will take place after the national offer day for on time applications. Late applications are not dealt with until after all the on time applications have been considered. Places are not reserved at schools in the on time allocation for late catchment children or any other circumstances.

Submitting a late application significantly reduces your child’s chance of an offer of a place at one of your preferred schools.

All late applications need to be made using the paper application form as the online facility is only available for on time applications and will close at midnight on 15 January 2019.

When will late starting school 2019 applications be processed?

Late applications, received between 16 January 2019 and 30 April 2019, will be processed in the late allocation round. The late offer day is 3 June 2019, and this is when we will write to late applicants with the outcome of their application.

Applications received after 30 April 2019 will be processed from May 2019 onwards.

Our information booklet Admissions in Central Bedfordshire 2019 (PDF 1.3MB) explains the process, key dates and information about how to make your application.

If you live outside Central Bedfordshire

If you live outside Central Bedfordshire and wish to apply for a place at a Central Bedfordshire school, you must apply to your own local authority. Even if your local authority accepts more than 3 preferences, please note that we only accept a maximum of 3 schools.
