Current inquests - Bedfordshire and Luton Coroner Service
How coronavirus is affecting inquests
Despite the current restrictions, essential business such as that carried out by courts and tribunals is still continuing, albeit with appropriate safety measures being put in place.
During the pandemic we are able to continue to hold inquests at the Court House but attendance can be via video link.
If you are required to attend in person, the Court House, Ampthill is COVID-secure.
Face coverings are mandatory for those attending and must be worn at all times in the building unless there is a valid exception, which should be discussed in advance (you will be permitted to remove your mask, should you wish to do so, when addressing the court).
Unless otherwise stated, all inquests are held at:
The Court House
Woburn Street
Ampthill
Bedfordshire
MK45 2HX
The court opens at 9.15am.
Press attendance
From 1 July 2020, members of the press can attend inquests in person. In order to comply with government guidance relating to social distancing, please advise us of your intention to attend the court. Numbers are restricted, to ensure the Court House remains safe.
Please email coroner.service@centralbedfordshire.gov.uk at least 24 hours in advance of the inquest you wish to attend.
