Biodiversity net gain regulations and implementation
The council has submitted its response to the consultation on biodiversity net gain regulations and implementation undertaken by DEFRA (Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs) which sets out proposals and asks questions about how biodiversity net gain will be applied to development. Planning for the future
The council has submitted its response to the ‘Planning for the Future’ White Paper consultation undertaken by MHCLG, which proposes wide-scale reforms to the planning system. This is the Central Bedfordshire Council response: Planning White Paper (October 2020) (PDF).
Changes to the current planning system
An additional consultation ‘Changes to the Current Planning System’ was held over the summer, which proposes interim changes to the current system, including a change in the methodology to calculate housing need.
