About the Transitional Accommodation Placement Policy consultation
Consultation closed: 5pm on 14 May 2018
We consulted on our Transitional Accommodation Placement Policy.
We want the best possible quality of life for all our residents, with better affordable accommodation and better living standards and are committed to reducing numbers of people within our temporary accommodation.
The demand for temporary and interim accommodation outweighs supply and availability of affordable temporary accommodation in Central Bedfordshire.
Development of the Transitional Accommodation Placement policy is necessary due to the statutory requirements on local authorities in respect of the suitability of accommodation, including the Suitability of Accommodation Orders (link opens in new window), the Homelessness Code of Guidance 2006 (link opens in new window), and the Supplementary Guidance (link opens in new window) issued last month.
Results of the consultation
The Transitional Accommodation Placement policy was approved by Executive (link opens in new window) on Tuesday 12 June 2018.
