What we're consulting on with resilient highways
We are seeking public feedback on the list of prioritised roads that will form our Resilient Highways Network in the event of extreme weather. This list has been developed by us and stakeholders from the Bedfordshire Local Resilience Forum (link opens in new window), which includes the local emergency services, other neighbouring local authorities, the NHS, the Environment Agency and others who are all required to respond to any major emergency in Central Bedfordshire.
We also welcome the views of local town and parish councils; the local business community; and statutory consultees to this consultation.
After feedback via the consultation, the proposed 'Resilient Highways Network' of prioritised roads will be taken to the Eastern Highways Alliance Benchmarking Group for a peer review by adjacent highway authorities.
Please see Appendix A and our highways map (PDF 1.6MB) for further details on our proposed priority roads.
