Introduction to becoming a teaching assistant workshops

Bedfordshire Employment and Skills Academy is running free, 3-hour workshops across Bedfordshire to give anyone considering a career in education the opportunity to find out more about the role of a teaching assistant.

During the workshop, you’ll cover:

  • the day-to-day responsibilities of a teaching assistant
  • the different roles within a school and how support staff contribute to a positive learning environment
  • key concepts including safeguarding, confidentiality, and professional conduct
  • the value of volunteering as a pathway into education
  • progression routes and career opportunities within the sector
