How A-level exam results will be calculated for 2020
The government announced on Monday 17 August that A-level grades, generated by an Ofqual computer algorithm, would be replaced by teachers’ predicted grades, known as a Centre Assessment Grade.
If you received your grades on A-level results day (13 August), you will be able to choose the highest grade between the two methods.
If you still wish to appeal your teacher predicted grade, you can ask your school or college to check whether it made an administrative error when submitting their Centre Assessment Grade, or position in the rank order, and if it agrees it did, to submit an appeal to the exam board. You will also have the option sit an exam in the autumn if you wish.
