Coronavirus business closure regulations
Following the government’s announcement about business closures and the introduction of legislation to enforce against businesses that do not follow the closure requirement, our officers now have the delegated powers to take action against premises that do not comply.
In-line with current government guidance on COVID-19 pandemic enforcement, we are responding to any complaints and information received about businesses who are not complying with the latest requirements. We are using current resources and those officers who are continuing to work in the community have been asked to proactively check and to report non-compliance.
Any concerns about businesses not complying with the measures set out, including social distancing inside businesses allowed to remain open, should be emailed to email@example.com and marked clearly as COVID Business Compliance. Reports will then be investigated by the appropriately delegated officers.
We don't have any powers to tackle people who are not complying with social distancing guidance in outdoor public places or social distancing issues by tradespeople working in any domestic setting, any manufacturing business place or construction. Please do not use the trading standards email address to report these issues.
