Help to live at home

Community Equipment Loan Service

The Community Equipment Loan Service is crucial for individuals who require social care support at home. It helps them live independently and with dignity.

We work in partnership with Bedford Borough Council, Luton Borough Council, Milton Keynes Council, and NHS Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes to provide the Community Equipment Loan Service.

Medequip is our service provider for the delivery, collection, repair, and servicing of loaned community equipment.

Equipment provided

Working closely with occupational therapists and other health and social care professionals, the service loans equipment is free of charge to help people stay independent at home and reduce the need for hospital or care home admissions. It also allows quicker hospital discharges.

All equipment loaned will be provided on an individual basis to people who have been assessed as needing it.

Getting equipment

If you're finding some areas of daily living becoming difficult and feel that you would benefit from an assessment, please refer to the Equipment (aids) in your home sectionA trained person will assess your eligibility for any support.
