Support for parents and carers

Personal Advisers - Youth Support Service

From year 9, young people will be encouraged to think about future careers and post school options and they should receive some careers education and guidance in school.

Additionally, the Youth Support Service provides services for young people aged 13-19 years old (up to 25 for young people with special needs). The service manages the delivery of a comprehensive ‘youth offer’ which includes the provision of Information, Advice and Careers Guidance to support access to education, employment or training opportunities and the provision of Youth Work and Positive Activities.

Targeted support

Within the Youth Support Service there are a team of Personal Advisers whom deliver guidance and support to young people with complex needs. The Personal Advisers, are experienced career professionals committed to improving outcomes of vulnerable young people and supporting them to overcome barriers to education, employment and training

Personal Advisers (SEND)

SEND Personal Advisers specialise in working with young people aged 13-25 years whom have a Statement of Education or Education, Health and Care Plan. They work closely with schools, social care and health teams to support the transition from school to further education and training settings.
