The Safer Communities and Partnership Team is hosting a series of free online events to help people learn more about cuckooing and exploitations.

Cuckooing is a practice where a drug dealer or a gang takes over a vulnerable person's home and uses the property as a base for their criminal activity, using it to store, sell or produce drugs, for sexual crimes or to financially abuse the tenant. Cuckooing takes the name from cuckoos who take over the nests of other birds. The person living at the property is often forced to take part in criminality. These sessions will explore cuckooing and criminal exploitation of vulnerable individuals, help attendees learn about the signs that could identify cuckooing, and outline how we respond to these issues in Central Bedfordshire and how we can work together with our partners and other agencies to support our community.
