Full details of the e-petition
Parking restrictions were introduced on Blackburn Road to keep the busway clear, which is sensible and necessary. However, the same restrictions were extended across the wider industrial estate and now apply seven days a week, all day, even where there is no bus or HGV activity.
These overly restrictive controls are preventing Snakes and Ladders customers from parking nearby when our car park is full, despite there being no obstruction or safety issue outside weekday operations.
We are asking the council to review the parking restrictions and amend them where they are unnecessary, so they apply on weekdays only, while allowing reasonable weekend parking in appropriate areas of the industrial estate.
Supporting details
These unnecessary weekend parking restrictions are hugely impacting customers, and our business, when the need for parking is most required.
