During the summer of 2025 we consulted on the development of the Bedfordshire Local Nature Recovery Strategy. The purpose of the public consultation, led by us, was to give residents, land managers and organisations with an interest in nature in Bedfordshire the opportunity to feedback and help ensure that the strategy best fits local opportunities, concerns and priorities whilst also helping to improve and refine the strategy before it is finalised.
The consultation results are summarised in the Executive report (PDF) and are available as part of the Executive committee papers. Respondents were generally positive about the ease in which they understood the strategy. The most common theme was around biodiversity and wildlife, indicating strong public interest in protecting species and habitats.
The Executive made a decision on 2 December 2025 to approve The Bedfordshire Local Nature Recovery Strategy.
