Household Waste Recycling Centres (Tidy tips)

Our four Household Waste Recycling Centres are open 7 days a week.

• don't forget to book a 20-minute time slot before visiting

• you can also book a waste permit when scheduling your visit if you're disposing of larger items like mattresses, carpet, or underlay

• bookings are free and can be made up to two weeks in advance

School term dates

Schools are closed on the spring bank holiday and then for the remainder of the week for half-term.

Countryside sites

We have over 1,000 hectares of countryside which we manage for public access and wildlife. Our sites are managed in-house by our Countryside Sites Team, or in partnership with the National Trust, Greensand Trust and Wildlife Trust.

Walking routes

Our website has a number of walking routes in Central Bedfordshire. There are plenty of routes to choose from. Whether it's a gentle one-mile stroll around Flitton Moor or an enthusiastic 40 miles on the nationally acclaimed Greensand Ridge Walk.

We have six leisure centres in Central Bedfordshire. Check your local leisure centre's website for variations to opening times over bank holidays.
