Highways Team - what we do, information and news

Highways planning information

We look after 1,400 kilometres (869 miles) of roads and associated pavements across Central Bedfordshire as well as the infrastructure on and under it. Highways services in Central Bedfordshire are provided by our contractor, Ringway Jacobs.

Roads are important for everyone who lives or works in our county, and we provide public consultations about key future plans.

Decisions relating to roads are generally made through a Traffic Management Meeting (link opens in new window). Some more strategic decisions will also go through the Executive Committee (link opens in new window).
