Footways/footpaths and salt bins
We do not grit footways/footpaths. We provide salt bins to Town and Parish Councils where requested to enable them to grit key areas within their towns and villages.
Salt bins are provided for the public to use on roads and footways and are generally sited at bends or hills where the risk of slipping on ice is greater.
Salt bins are not provided for people to use within their own private property.

Salt bag scheme for town and parish councils
We will deliver either one 1 tonne or one ½ tonne bag of road de-icing salt, free of charge, to any town or parish council that requests one.
We will do this in December, January and February if requested by a town or parish council.
