Road markings and signage
Although the government regulates the design, placement and illumination of road signs and markings across the country, Central Bedfordshire Council are responsible for installing signs to regulate the flow of traffic on our roads – as well as warning drivers and cyclists of any hazards on the road ahead.
If you’re a new driver or cyclist looking for general information on the Highway Code, check out the Directgov website for a helpful breakdown of road signs and what they mean. There’s also lots of information on local cycle routes and street signage here on our website.
This form should be used to report non emergency highway faults, e.g. potholes or street lighting problems. If you believe the fault you are reporting is an emergency (e.g. likely to cause damage or injury or wires showing) then please telephone the 24 hour phone line (0300 300 8049) to report the fault.
