School temporary accommodation

We provide capital funding to schools requiring temporary units where pupil numbers exceed the maximum capacity of a school.

The programme is set each year based on forecasts from the School Organisation Plan 2015 - 2020 (PDF 1.7MB) .

Temporary Accommodation Programme 2014 / 15

Fairfield Park Lower School - conversion of temporary classroom back to an ICT suite (to avoid the need for new temporary accommodation).

The Chiltern School - reconfigure existing, and provide new temporary units (primary site Glenwood).

Leedon Lower School - removal of temporary unit.

Alameda Middle School - contribution to decommissioning temporary units.

Church End Lower School - hire of temporary double classroom unit up to end of March 2015 ahead of new permanent accommodation.

There are also planning renewals for the retention of temporary units at Dunstable, Icknield Lower School, Dunton Lower School, Kingsmoor Lower School, Ridgmont Lower School and The Chiltern School (secondary site Hillcrest).

The Chiltern School – final phase to reconfigure existing and provide new temporary units on the primary site at Glenwood.

Robert Peel Lower School – first phase of works to replace the temporary unit.

Church End Lower School - hire of temporary double classroom unit up to the end of March 2015 ahead of new permanent accommodation.

Cost of Planning renewal fee for the retention of an extra large double temporary unit at Shelton Lower School.

Temporary Accommodation Draft Programme 2016/17

Dunton Lower School – first phase to reconfigure existing and provide new temporary units.

Robert Peel Lower School – final phase of works to replace the temporary unit.

Dunstable Icknield Lower School – funding contribution to the demolition of temporary buildings.

The Firs Lower School – funding contribution to replace a temporary unit with new permanent accommodation.

Cost of Planning renewal fees for the retention of single and triple temporary units at Campton Lower School;  a double temporary unit at Burgoyne Middle School; and a single temporary unit at Aspley Guise Lower School.
