Arlesey Masterplan

Introduction and background

Arlesey Cross is the collective name for two separate sites that are situated to the East and West of the High Street. The site was originally allocated in the Site Allocations Document for the North of Central Bedfordshire which was adopted by the Council in 2011. Policy MA8 of this document requires a minimum of 1000 new homes, new employment space, a new school and other amenities as well as environmental improvements.

There is a requirement to produce a Masterplan Document for this development in order to demonstrate how the land can be delivered in a coordinated and sustainable manner, and how this development will integrate into the main settlement of Arlesey.

The Masterplan was adopted by Central Bedfordshire Council at Executive Committee on 18 March 2014.
