Make a planning application

Planning overview

We have a duty to manage how land and buildings in our region are used and developed. Planning Permission allows us to protect the environment and amenities of Central Bedfordshire, while supporting economic development.

It may be possible to make smaller changes including some extensions under permitted development, but you’ll need to apply for Planning Permission before starting most kinds of building work.

You can view and comment on current planning applications.

You can also report a development that does not have Planning Permission.

The quickest and easiest way to apply is online, using the government's Planning Portal website (link opens in new window). You will be guided through your application and will be able to save and come back to your application if you need to.

We will receive your completed application, and you will be directed back to this site to pay before it will be processed.
