Our recruitment process
Application form
Please note that as of Monday 2nd August we will have moved. Please return your completed application form to: HR Resourcing Team, Central Bedfordshire Council, Technology House, 239 Ampthill Road, Bedford, Bedfordshire, MK42 9BD
We use an application form to ensure that all applicants present their information in a standard format and tell us only what is relevant.
The job description provides a summary of the main elements of the job. This is not exhaustive, but provides an overall view of the role, and what will be expected of the successful applicant. The person specification details the experience, skills and abilities required to carry out the role. When completing the section called, "your application", it is important that you read the person specification, complete all sections, answer in full and provide examples to demonstrate how you meet each requirement in the person specification.
The guidance below may help when you are completing the application form.
- Please read the application form guidelines before starting to complete the form.
- Please complete all sections using additional sheets if necessary clearly marking them with your name, the job title and reference number.
- If you are posting your application, please type or write in black ink. If you are hand writing your application, please ensure it is legible.
- You should describe relevant work experience fully, detailing your role and responsibilities and giving examples to demonstrate your achievements where possible. Experience gained outside of paid employment can be equally valid, so give some thought to this area too, particularly if you are not currently in employment.
