Flexible Working - We recognise the importance of balancing home and work life, and can offer flexibility to manage work duties alongside lifestyles and responsibilities.

Flexitime Scheme - Working 9 to 5.30 doesn't suit everyone. We operate a flexitime scheme.

Annual leave -  We offer generous annual leave entitlement, which increases with length of service. Our basic annual leave starts at 24 days, rising to 29 after 5 years of service and 31 after 10 years. We allow many employees the option to buy an additional 5 days annual leave per year.

Mileage Allowance - If you drive on council business you may be eligible for a lump sum car allowance of up to £750 a year and casual business mileage rates of 45p per mile.

Rail Season Ticket Loan - If you take the train to work you may be eligible for an interest free season ticket loan. If you travel on the Bedford to London line you may be eligible for a 50% discount.

RAC Breakdown Cover - You and your family can benefit from up to 50% off RAC breakdown cover.

Car Parking - There is free car parking available at the 3 main Council locations, however, a parking space cannot be guaranteed. Designated car parking spaces are reserved for disabled drivers and for car sharers.
