Fixed-Term tenancy

After completing an Introductory Tenancy satisfactorily, tenants move on to a Fixed-Term tenancy.

This is a secure or assured tenancy, fixed period of 5 years. Towards the end of the 5-year period, there is a review of the tenant’s circumstances to find out if they are still in need of social housing. During the 5-year period, the council can only end the tenancy by seeking possession in court because the tenant has breached a condition of the tenancy.
