Creasey Park Drive
Creasey Park Drive was formerly a derelict garage site that the council has built four new homes on. It is the first council housing built by us in nearly 40 years.
On the site there is now one two-bedroom bungalow, one two-bedroom bungalow adapted for the disabled and two, two-bedroom flats.
As part of the overarching Housing Asset Management Strategy for Central Bedfordshire, we are building new homes in the right areas to meet the housing demand from local people.
Given that there is national housing pressure, the fact that this former garage site is owned by us and has been vacant for some years made it ideal for development.
Planning permission for the site was granted in January 2015 and work began there four months later. The first residents moved in from February 2016.
The council was keen to work with local businesses to make the project happen and, along with support from the Tenant Investment Panel and following procurement guidelines, a local builder was chosen – Meadsway Construction, from Marston Moretaine.
