Independent living in Priory View, Dunstable
Residents have moved into our brand new independent living development in Dunstable. Priory View, conveniently located on Church Street in Dunstable, provides easy access to local amenities in Dunstable Town Centre and to the guided bus way, connecting Dunstable and Houghton Regis to Luton.
Priory View is up for an award!
Priory View has been shortlisted for the Top 60 Development 2016 Awards (link opens in new window), in the ‘Older People’s Development’ category. The result will be announced in October 2016. We have made a substantial investment in Priory View, which will provide homes for single people and couples aged 55+ who may need some support to remain independent and it's good to see that this hard work is being recognised.
The story so far
Priory View is part of a bigger plan to make sure we have the right sort of housing available for older residents, most of whom want to live in their own homes for as long as possible.
But it's more than alternative accommodation that an older person has to ‘accept’ because their home is no longer suitable for them. It is a place to celebrate life! The facilities are fantastic but the building was designed to build a sense of community and for people to make new friends and be able to support each other.
Having flexible care services on site will give residents and their families the peace of mind that their new homes will afford them the right balance of privacy and independence, with the support they need. There is a real focus on social activity with lots of shared space for both residents and the community.
What are the facilities?
- 83 apartments for affordable rent and shared ownership with 1 or 2 bedrooms
- stylish, spacious, and adaptable accommodation for individuals or couples
- assistive technology and design features like wet rooms to meet the needs of residents
- on site flexible care provided 24/7
- guest rooms
- landscaped gardens
- hobby rooms
- café / restaurant
- therapy suite
- hair and beauty salon
Priory View offers the best of all worlds – a safe and secure home, a community of like-minded people, a social life on your doorstep and support and care when you need it.
For all the community
Parts of Priory View are open to the public and we hope that you will visit to use the restaurant and café, as well as the shops in the development. We want Priory View to serve the whole community and we look forward to welcoming visitors.
