At risk of homelessness

Worried about becoming homeless or losing your home?

If you are homeless, or you are worried about becoming homeless, you should contact our Housing Solutions (Options) team on 0300 300 4370 as soon as you can, after you have watched the advice in the video below. This video may answer some or all of your questions about homelessness before you talk to an adviser.

You can often avoid becoming homeless if you act quickly and get the right help.

We try to help people remain in their homes wherever possible, whether you are a social housing tenant, private tenant, homeowner or living with friends and family

We can help with:

  • young people who have been living with family or friends and have been asked to leave, we can offer mediation
  • people who experience domestic violence may be offered 'sanctuary schemes', involving the installation of security measures within the home

young people leaving the family home may be offered supported lodgings schemes where members of the community provide a room as temporary respite accommodation.
