Central Bedfordshire tenant involvement - how you can get involved
We have a continuing commitment to involve our residents in our housing services and we encourage tenants to join our Tenant Involvement panels to focus on the way we consult with our customers. If you have a genuine interest in this we want to hear from you. All you need to do to get involved is to complete a simple form, which asks for your skills and strengths so that we can select the appropriate members to the panel. For more information on the panels we currently have in place and the other activities that are available to get involved with, please see the link below Other ways to get involved
If you would like to be involved with the housing service, please complete and return the Tenant Involvement Survey below.

Annual Report and Local Offers
Annual Report for the Housing Service
This is our second Annual Report and, as last time, it has been written as a document to give all our residents an overview on how well we are performing as a Housing Service. Each service in housing is categorised under the five national standards as listed by the Homes and Communities Agency:
1. Tenant Involvement and Empowerment
2. Home
3. Tenancy
4. Neighbourhood and Community
5. Value for Money
The report follows these guidelines and lists each service within its relevant national standard. What is important to note is that this report has been written in full consultation with tenants. This has taken place in a number of formats including Tenants Conferences, Panels, Forum meetings and surveys. The Way Forward Panel has played a key part in producing this final document. Not much has changed in terms of style and format between this report and the one we produced last year. The main reason for this is that we received very positive comments on the last report on a local and national basis.
For more information on the report or if you would like a copy please call 0300 300 5255 or click on the following link to download a copy.

Local Offers
Following months of consultations, meetings with officers and tenants we now have a set of Local Offers which have been requested and approved by tenants from across the area.. The aim of the Offers is to improve services by the council as well as raising awareness of what is available. The Offers will be closely monitored to ensure we meet our commitments and work towards the set targets. These Offers will also allow social landlords to compare performance on a local level. This will allow CBC and other authorities to examine the differences in areas of the housing service.
One of the most important factors of setting the Local Offers is that they had to be produced in agreement with tenants. It is through priorities raised by tenants that these Offers have been agreed. This is one of the many examples of how the Council is strengthening the role of the tenant in shaping the services they receive.

Surveys
We are committed to listening to the views of all our residents. We carry out consultations on a number of issues in a variety of methods.
Previously STATUS was the required method for the measurement and submission of tenant satisfaction levels under the local government performance framework. It stated that stock-owning local authorities should carry out a tenant satisfaction survey using STATUS every two years.

STATUS Survey Results 2008 (PDF 456KB)
This is no longer a requirement however other surveys are undertaken to find out from our tenants how our services are running and to receive feedback. These include contractors and repairs satisfaction levels which are conducted over the telephone on a monthly basis and written surveys are also sent out occasionally which we usually receive a high return rate for which helps us to gauge the level of satisfaction across the housing services.
