Survey of Adult Carers in England (SACE)
The Survey of Adult Carers in England (or carers' survey) is a mandatory survey is carried out every two years by councils in England, on behalf of NHS England. It asks for views on whether services received by unpaid carers help them in their caring role, their life outside of caring and their perception of services provided to the cared for person.
Questionnaires are sent to a sample of around 800 unpaid carers living in Central Bedfordshire who look after a family member, partner or friend in need of support or services. People in the sample will be sent a questionnaire by post, including a freepost return envelope. Please do complete it if you receive one – individual responses to the survey are completely anonymous.
It is important as it helps us to understand what works and what needs improving, and to ensure that we are getting our services right.
We will analyse the results and share them with NHS England, who will collate the results from all councils and publish the national results in the June following the survey. We will also publish the Central Bedfordshire results on this page.
The results will be used by organisations such as the Department of Health, NHS England and the Care Quality Commission, as well as us, to see how happy people are with care and support services and to assess their experiences of local care services.
