Help for adults
We all need a helping hand from time to time – especially when we’re picking ourselves up from one of life’s cruel blows. Friends and family often step in at times like these – but sometimes that’s just not enough. For others it’s simply not an option. And that’s where we come in.
We offer information, advice and services to adults with all kinds of challenges or problems to overcome – from managing student fee payments to dealing with a debilitating illness; finding the right care home for an elderly relative or financial assistance to help fund school clothing and transport for your young ones.

Financial assessment
The Council employs a team of Welfare Rights Officers who can maximise your income by helping you to claim all the benefits which you are entitled to. There is also a team of Community Finance Advisers who are responsible for completing financial assessment forms for customers receiving non–residential services.
Our Community Finance Advisers will talk to you about your personal circumstances to find out what benefits you could be claiming. They can also help you to fill in any forms, and when necessary refer you for further advice.
