Cold weather payments
The Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) are committed to helping vulnerable customers to heat their homes during the cold weather, so are continuing Cold Weather Payments. These provide £25 towards eligible customers’ heating costs during each seven day period of very cold weather.
There is no need to claim, eligible customers are paid automatically. This payment is over and above Winter Fuel Payments made to those over 60.

Cold Weather Payments - During a very cold winter, the costs of heating can quickly add up. If you’re receiving certain benefits, you may be able to get a Cold Weather Payment for each period of very cold weather in your area. Find out whether you could qualify for help this winter.
Department for Work and Pensions - Cold Weather Payments - A Cold Weather Payment is intended to help towards extra heating costs during very cold weather. A payment of £25.00 is paid automatically for each week of very cold weather. You do not have to pay it back. It is a regulated payment and not subject to a budget. As long as you fulfil the conditions below, you will be paid.
