Introducing the Bedfordshire and Luton Archives and Records Service
Bedfordshire and Luton Archives and Records Service is jointly funded by Central Bedfordshire, Bedford Borough and Luton Borough to provide a countywide service.
Visitors are welcome and do not need to be booked in advance and there is no entry fee, though any copies of documents will involve a fee. We can also carry out research for you, again for a fee.
We hold original records covering most aspects of the history of the county and its people including parish registers and other archives of the Church of England; the records of nonconformist churches; old photographs, records of industry and farming; archives of landed estates; the Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Regiment archive; personal archives and local government records including those of parish councils.
