Industrial emissions / LAPPC permits

Fees and charges for industrial emissions / LAPPC permits

Please ensure you include the appropriate fee (link opens in new window) when submitting your completed application form.

Should the permit be granted, you will be liable for an annual subsistence fee; different fees apply depending on the polluting potential of the installation.

The charging scheme, which is set by government and regularly reviewed, follows the ‘polluter pays’ principle by linking the charge to the regulatory effort required to monitor the process. The annual subsistence charge can be reduced if businesses seek to minimise the potential of causing pollution issues. When officers inspects the installation, they will carry out a risk assessment – which will dictate the frequency of inspections / visits and the annual subsistence fee payable.
