Household waste - rubbish collections
Central Bedfordshire Council is responsible for the collection and disposal of household waste. Each household is provided with separate containers for recyclable and non- recyclable waste.
We currently operate an alternate weekly collection scheme, collecting refuse one week and recycling the next. Please check our collections calendars to find out when exactly your bins are collected.
Please present your waste at the boundary of your property by 7:00am on your collection day.
Please note that collection operatives will not take side waste - all waste should be within the container provided.
The council will collect your household waste on the same day of the week (with the exception of Christmas and New Year).

Due to the recent formation of Central Bedfordshire Council, there is still some variation to the size, type and colour of the containers provided to households for the collection of household waste and recycling. As those containers are replaced when to the end of their useful life, the Council will look to standardise the container type, size and colour for the whole district.
