Pre-application advice
You can visit the Council at Central Bedfordshire Offices, Priory House, Chicksands, from 8:30am to 5:15pm on Monday to Thursday, and 8:30am to 4:30pm on Fridays and speak to a Duty Planning Officer. - Central Bedfordshire Council have introduced new requirements that must be supplied in order to validate your request for Pre-application advice. Failure to provide this information will result in your request being made invalid and will delay the Pre-application process.

Planning Office relocation.
- From Monday 12th July, The Development Management team currently based at the Dunstable offices in High Street North will be located at the Priory House offices, Monks Walk, Chicksands, Shefford, SG17 5TQ. This will bring the whole of the Development Management team for Central Bedfordshire together to allow a harmonised service to customers.Please note that paper copies of planning applications will no longer be held at Dunstable, and would have to be inspected at Chicksands. These can also be viewed online.
- Land at Frenchs Avenue and Hillcroft/Weatherby, Dunstable and land to the west of Hill Croft including Maidenbower. A planning application and accompanying Environmental Statement has been received proposing the erection of 650 dwellings, a small scale neighbourhood centre, public open space area, access and utilities infrastructure (outline). The documentation has now been expanded and a "Regulation 19" Addendum to the Environmental Statement and a draft Green Infrastructure Management Plan have been added as separate documents to the list. The Addendum is at the head of the list and the Green Infrastructure Management Plan at the foot, together with a modification letter. The Addendum has to be publicised: we will place notices in the Luton and Dunstable Express and on site which will set out a date for response. - The Core Strategy and Development Management policies document has been found "sound" and will shortly be used for determining planning applications in the former Mid Beds area... read more
