Countryside conservation
To ensure all aspects of the countryside are conserved for current and future generations we work closely with farmers and landowners to manage County Wildlife sites and Scheduled Ancient Monuments.
Additionally we have significant input into Farm Environment Plans for stewardship schemes which pay landowners to manage their land in a manner that will benefit the natural and historic environment.
The Bedfordshire Landscape Character Assessment also provides guidance for developers and planners to help conserve the landscape characteristics within Bedfordshire.
